trust & safety
Installing software from a site you've just found takes trust. Here is everything that's done to earn it.
When an app is marked open source, its complete code is on GitHub under a real license (MIT, GPL, Apache…). Anyone can read it, check what it does with your data, or build the app from scratch.
Every direct download shows a SHA-256 checksum — a fingerprint of the exact file that was uploaded. If a file is corrupted or modified on the way to you, its fingerprint changes and you'll know.
For apps whose code isn't public, each file is uploaded to VirusTotal and the report is linked. You can see the verdict of dozens of antivirus engines yourself.
Apps on the App Store, Google Play or Microsoft Store are reviewed and signed by those stores. When an app is listed there, this site links to the official page instead of hosting a copy.
If a checksum doesn't match, an antivirus complains, or anything looks off, please report it right away.
